Marketing & Advertising
•Direct Mail Campaigns. Direct Mail Campaigns are so effective that even Google uses them. I’ll help you develop one, or a series, of direct mail postcards with copy and photos that will make your business stand out among its competitors.•Advertorials. The advertorial is a paid advertisement designed to look like a feature story in a newspaper or magazine, with two important differences: first, an advertorial is clearly marked as such; and second, an advertorial is produced by a copywriter with a marketing goal in mind, unlike an editorial piece created by an objective journalist. Advertorials are a wonderful way to share your story with a targeted audience, in precisely the manner you want to share it. With a background as a features writer for newspapers and magazines, and as a public relations professional, I especially enjoy crafting advertorials.
•Print Ads. Northeastern Pennsylvania is unique in that it’s one of the few regions in the country that still has a city with competing daily papers (Wilkes-Barre) and a strong newspaper presence in neighboring Scranton. I’ll help you assess if your target audience is also part of the local newspaper readership. If it is, I’ll develop copy for your print advertising campaign to catch their attention.
•Billboards. The rule of thumb for outdoor campaigns: Say it in 6 words or less. I’ll show you how to keep your messaging brief, and make every word count.
•Online Promotion. Your website is one of your greatest marketing tools. If your current website needs revision, or if you’re launching a new site, I’ll develop high-quality content that will help increase your online presence. For more information on web copy, click here.
•Social Media Profiles. Writing the “About” section of your online business profile can be a daunting and time-consuming task. I can take this off your to-do list by writing a long and short description of your business suitable for use on Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and a variety of popular social media platforms.
•Newsletters. Many businesses and non-profits use electronic newsletters or print newsletters to stay in touch with their clients and customers. I write newsletter articles in various lengths, and if you need help planning the content for your next edition, I can help with that, too.
•Branding. Your logo and tagline are critical to your marketing plan because they’re everywhere: on your website, your business cards, letterhead, invoices and ads. Let’s make sure the branding for your business is truly unforgettable.
•Radio. Before the “On Air” button glows red in the recording studio, you’ll need a script for your radio spot. I have experience writing and recording :30 and :60 radio spots for a variety of businesses and organizations, including local pizzerias, newspapers, non-profits, pubs and eateries, and heating and cooling specialists.
•Television. Whether you’re a business owner investing in television advertising or a leader of a non-profit organization working with a media sponsor, you’ll need a script for your :30 or :60 spot before production can begin. I have experience writing scripts for television, including commercials featuring testimonials and PSAs (public service announcements) for non-profit and civic organizations.
